Second stop on our European Excursion to Strasbourg was the Lieu d´Europe.
The Documentation Centre Lieu d’Europe, located in Strasbourg, France, is an important institution dedicated to promoting awareness and understanding of European integration, human rights, and the work of European institutions. As a focal point for education and information, it serves both the general public and professionals interested in European affairs.
The primary aim of the Lieu d’Europe is to provide comprehensive resources related to the European Union (EU) and the Council of Europe. It seeks to enhance public knowledge about the significance of European cooperation, the values that underpin it, and the various initiatives undertaken by these institutions. By doing so, the centre fosters a greater appreciation for democracy, human rights, and the rule of law across Europe.
We really enjoyed playing with the different multimedia resources, which included exhibitions, audiovisual materials, quizzes and interactive displays. These resources are designed to engage visitors and provide a deeper understanding of the complexities of European governance and the implications of EU policies on everyday life.
Also, they offer a lot of info material about the EU in dozens of different languages and completely for free.
Overall we can absolutely recommend visiting the Lieu d´Europe. It was very informative and their staff was very helpful and nice.
