Illustriertes Wohnheimwörterbuch / Living at a student dorm- an illustred dictionary

Das Leben in einem Studentenwohnheim kann seine Schwierigkeiten mit sich bringen. Daher sorgt nun das neue Lexikon für ausländische Studenten für einen besseren Durchblick und Hilfestellungen.

Es handelt sich um ein Projekt, dass vor einigen Jahren durch die Universität Bielefeld und dem DAAD ins Leben gerufen wurde und sich zum Ziel gemacht die Integration ausländischer Studierende zu fördern.

Das bebilderte Wörterbuch hilft Euch deutsche Verhaltensweisen zu verstehen und gibt Hilfestellungen für eine bessere Kommunikation z.B. mit Euren Mitbewohnern oder Nachbarn im Wohnheim.

Allgemeine Fragen wie:  “Wie installiere ich den Internetzugang? Was muss ich bei meinem Auszug beachten?” werden erläutert und wichtige Begriffe des alltäglichen Wohnheimalltags erklärt und bildlich dargestellt. Das Wörterbuch ist in Deutsch, Englisch, Chinesisch, Spanisch und Französisch erhältlich.

Die gedruckte Ausgabe könnt ihr Euch nun -kostenlos- im Akademischen Auslandsamt (AAA) jeden Dienstag von 14-16 Uhr in O.06.12 abholen.

Living at a student dorm might cause certain difficulties at the beginning. That’s why this new illustrated dictionary aims to help foreign students.

The project was started a few years ago by the university of Bielefeld and the DAAD and tries to enhance social integration of foreign students.

The illustred dictionary will help you to understand certain german behaviours and also aims to facilitate your communication with your flatmates or neighbours at the student dorm.

General questions like “How can I get my internet access? What do I have to take into consideration bevore leaving the flat?” will be explained in detail with some pictures in this illustred dictionary. You can look up important terms for everyday life situations at the dorm or at the university in German, English, Chinese, Spanish or French.

You can get the printed version -for free- at the International Office on Tuesdays from 2-4 p.m. in O.06.12.
