About the artists

Guy Dermossessian

Guy Dermosessian was born and raised in Beirut. He is a DJ, record collector and founder of the music label Kalakuta Soul Records. For over fifteen years he has been touring the clubs of the world with well-filled record cases. In his electric DJ sets he questions the Eurocentric club culture and its musical canon and much prefers playing Nigerian boogie, Lebanese pop, Cameroonian mocassa or Syrian hip-hop. With Cute Community, he founded a BI_PoC space and a radio station for the production and dissemination of non-European and diasporic pop and club culture.

ADJO and PVLM

ADJO and PVLM have come together to form a DJ duo that pushes the boundaries of traditional genres. With their deep-rooted cultural influences : ADJO brings rhythms and a vibrant variety of pan-African music, house, afrobeats and rare finds from Soundcloud to his music, while PVLM, a virtuoso of Congolese origin, infuses the essence of afrohouse, batida, baile funk, afrotech, RnB, UKG, futurebeats, 90s hip hop and afrobeats into his compositions. As co-founder of the collective “Global South Sound”, their goal is to create spaces for Afrocentric music from the international African diaspora and weave a rich mosaic of sounds that not only entertain but also educate their audiences about the great heritage of Afrocentric rhythms.

ALBI X

ALBI X is a captivating and energetic Afro-German artist: he skilfully combines his Congolese roots with his career full of rich encounters. In his lyrics, he switches seamlessly between French, Lingala, German and English. A multilingual and multicultural mix that allows him to easily transmit his positive spirit to all those who do not understand the languages, with his varied play between trap, hip-hop, Afro and also African sounds. In this way, he fights against discrimination in a positive, energetic and inclusive way. Our favorite to discover as soon as possible: C’est ma vie (2023).
