At the end of the semester we have a mega event for you!
We will travel to France and visit the “European capital” of Strasbourg. This is the 2nd event as part of our semester motto: “Strengthening Europe and democracy”.
The city in Alsace is also an excellent place to visit like no other city in the European Union. Strasbourg calls itself the “capital of Europe” – and not just because of the institutions of the European Union (European Parliament, Council of Europe, European Court of Human Rights). The city is polyglot and has a historic old town with half-timbered houses, canals and small cafés.
The aim of our project is to impart knowledge about the EU and its institutions and member states in a creative, diverse way.
We will travel from Wuppertal to Strasbourg on Thursday, July 11th and return on Monday, July 15th.
Our program:
Friday, July 12, 2024:
– Visit to the Council of Europe
– Visit to the Lieu d’Europe
Saturday, July 13, 2024:
– Visit to the European Parliament
– Visit to the Museum of Modern and Contemporary Arts and the
Alsatian Museum
Sunday, July 14, 2024:
– City tour through the old town of Strasbourg
– Boat Tour/ EURO Final
There is a limit on the number of participants for this event. Register via Instagram or at our weekly get-together (Stammtisch).
Our project “Europe Excursion to Strasbourg” is supported by the state initiative Europe Checks of the Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs and Media and Head of the State Chancellery of North Rhine-Westphalia.
The Minister for Federal and European Affairs, International Affairs and Media of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia and Head of the State Chancellery, Nathanael Liminski, has called for people to take part in the state initiative Europa-Schecks. It focuses in particular on civil society engagement in Europe and supports projects that are committed to the European idea and the strengthening of the European spirit in North Rhine-Westphalia.
