To celebrate its 50th birthday, the university, in cooperation with Wuppertal Marketing, is organising a guided tour of Wuppertal, focusing on the university and the art on campus. This will take place once on Saturday, 25 June, and again on Saturday, 13 August.
Various public works of art are set up at the university. These include the seven-metre-high sculpture “Zum Licht” (To the Light) by the internationally renowned artist Tony Cragg, as well as the installation “MetaLicht” (MetaLight), which was installed on the occasion of the university’s 40th birthday. The light bands, which are attached to the edges of the buildings from the Grifflenberg in Wuppertal, can be seen from a great distance in the dark.
Information about this and other art to be discovered on campus is available in the city tour. Participation is free, but a ticket must still be booked.
Meeting point: 11.00 a.m. Campus Grifflenberg, Gaußstraße 20, main entrance
End: approx. 12.30 p.m. at the meeting point
The tour will be very interesting and anyone who has a bit of a taste for art should definitely take part!
