We set off to discover the past of the infamous Ruhrgebiet. We visited the German Mining Museum in Bochum, which is the largest mining museum in the world, and a renowned research establishment for mining history. Our tour guide informed us about the dark past of the world of mining and our natural ressources. Especially the shaft descent simulator gave us great insight into the hard and brutal everyday life of a coal miner.
